The Nashville playmaker struck in the 16th minute, finishing a volley to give the hosts an early advantage after a positive opening spell. Nashville continued to dictate the rhythm, keeping Toronto pinned back with sustained possession and a steady stream of pressure around the penalty area.
Mukhtar doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, finding the net again just before the interval to put Nashville firmly in command. His two-goal display ensured the hosts went into half-time with the 2-0 margin that would ultimately settle the fixture.
Toronto attempted to find a route back after the break, but Nashville remained in control. The home side finished with 61.5 percent possession, 23 shots and 11 efforts on target, while winning nine corners. Toronto managed 11 shots but only three on target as Nashville protected their clean sheet with authority.
There were no further goals in the second half, though Nashville forward Sam Surridge was booked in the 81st minute. The final whistle confirmed a polished home result, with Mukhtar’s clinical first-half brace proving the difference.
