Jordyn Bugg delivered the decisive goal in the 68th minute as Seattle Reign FC defeated Orlando Pride 1–0 at Lumen Field on Sunday, November 1, securing three points in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Orlando enjoyed more possession, but Seattle produced the greater attacking threat. The Reign finished with 18 shots to the Pride’s eight and five attempts on target, while the visitors failed to put a single effort on target.
Bugg breaks the deadlock
The teams went into halftime level at 0–0, leaving the fixture finely balanced heading into the second half. It remained goalless until Bugg struck in the 68th minute, providing the breakthrough that ultimately separated the sides.
That goal gave Seattle an advantage they protected through the final whistle, including five minutes of second-half stoppage time. Orlando could not find an equalizer, leaving the hosts to celebrate a narrow victory and a clean sheet.
Seattle turn less possession into more threat
The contrast between possession and end product told the story. Orlando held 56.2 percent of the ball, yet Seattle made more of their 43.8 percent share, generating over twice as many attempts and winning nine corners to the Pride’s six.
For Orlando, the absence of a shot on target was the defining frustration. Their greater share of possession never translated into the finishing threat needed to take something from the match.
Seattle, meanwhile, paired Bugg’s 68th-minute winner with a shutout. In a fixture settled by one goal, their superior attacking output and ability to keep Orlando off target proved decisive.
