In front of 60,207 supporters, the hosts registered 20 attempts to Everton’s eight and won 12 corners to the visitors’ three. An early breakthrough gave Arsenal the advantage; Gabriel’s second-half header supplied the breathing room.

Konsa gives Arsenal an early edge

Konsa opened the scoring after just seven minutes, immediately leaving Everton with a deficit to overturn. Arsenal went into the interval 1–0 ahead, having established the platform for their eventual victory.

Everton remained within a single goal at the break, although Vitaliy Mykolenko picked up a booking in first-half stoppage time. The visitors were still in contention for a draw, but needed an attacking response to change the direction of the fixture.

Gabriel’s header settles the contest

The second half brought a cluster of yellow cards before the decisive second goal. Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly was booked in the 58th minute, while Everton’s James Garner received a caution in the 66th.

Two minutes later, Gabriel Magalhães headed home to make it 2–0. His 68th-minute goal transformed Arsenal’s narrow advantage into a much stronger position heading into the closing stages.

Everton finished with three attempts on target from eight efforts, but could not find a route back into the contest. James Tarkowski was booked in the 79th minute, and Arsenal preserved their clean sheet through eight minutes of added time.

Pressure pays off for the hosts

Arsenal’s 58.1 percent possession and substantial advantage in attempts and corners underlined their greater attacking output. Only four of their 20 efforts were on target, but two proved enough to secure all three points.

For Everton, the early concession created a difficult assignment, and Gabriel’s header ultimately put the result beyond their reach. Arsenal combined goals from two defenders with a shutout at the other end to complete a productive afternoon.

Arsenal next face Liverpool on Sunday, November 1, while Everton return to Premier League action against Newcastle United on Monday, November 2.
