FC Dallas saved their decisive blows for the closing stages, coming from behind to beat Colorado Rapids 3–1 at Toyota Stadium in Saturday’s Major League Soccer fixture. Joaquín Valiente equalized in the 75th minute before Kaick struck in the 88th and Santiago Moreno added a third in the second minute of stoppage time.
For much of the second half, Colorado had a valuable away victory within reach after Morgan Whittaker broke the deadlock in the 47th minute. Instead, Dallas turned a one-goal deficit into a convincing final margin, with their attacking persistence finally rewarded.
Whittaker gives Colorado the breakthrough
A goalless first half left both sides searching for an opening, but the Rapids needed just two minutes after the restart to find theirs. Whittaker’s 47th-minute goal put the visitors ahead and gave Dallas a deficit to chase.
It proved to be Colorado’s only shot on target of the match. The visitors finished with six attempts overall, compared with Dallas’ 26, underlining how efficiently the Rapids had seized their opportunity—and how much attacking work the hosts produced in response.
Valiente sparks the Dallas turnaround
Dallas remained behind until the 75th minute, when Valiente supplied the equalizer. With a quarter of an hour of regulation time remaining, the contest was level again and a draw remained a possibility.
Kaick changed that in the 88th minute, putting Dallas ahead for the first time. Moreno then added the finishing touch in the 90+2nd minute, turning a tense late advantage into a two-goal cushion.
Attacking volume makes the difference
Possession was almost evenly divided, with Dallas holding 50.9 percent, but the hosts carried a much greater shooting threat. Their 26 attempts included 10 on target, while they also edged the corner count six to four.
Colorado’s early second-half breakthrough kept them in front until the final quarter-hour, but they could not protect that advantage. For Dallas, three goals from the 75th minute onward transformed a frustrating evening into a memorable comeback victory.
