Philadelphia Union 4-2 Orlando City SC
Milan Iloski delivered a decisive hat trick as Philadelphia Union overcame Orlando City SC 4-2 in Major League Soccer action at Subaru Park on Saturday night.
Philadelphia made a fast, clinical start despite seeing less of the ball overall. Iloski opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute, before doubling the Union advantage eight minutes later with a finish that put the hosts firmly in control. Orlando held 64.4 percent possession, but struggled to turn its territorial command into clear opportunities, finishing with only two shots on target.
The Union resumed with the same attacking edge after the interval. Indiana Vassilev made it 3-0 in the 47th minute, striking just moments after the restart, and Iloski completed his treble in the 51st minute to cap a devastating spell. The forward’s three-goal display led a Philadelphia attack that produced 20 shots and nine efforts on target.
Orlando did find a late response, with Iván Angulo pulling one back in the 78th minute before Martín Ojeda added another in the 90th minute. But the visitors’ rally came too late to unsettle a Union side that had already built an unassailable four-goal cushion.
The result continues Philadelphia’s strong run of form and gives the Union a 11-6-10 record. Orlando City fall to 10-4-13 after a fixture in which their possession advantage was ultimately undone by Philadelphia’s sharper work in the final third.
Philadelphia return to action on October 10 against Real Salt Lake, while Orlando City will host Columbus Crew on the same day.
