Bournemouth made their greater cutting edge count as Evanilson’s 31st-minute opener and Amine Adli’s finish in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time secured a 2–0 Premier League victory over Leeds United at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
Leeds enjoyed more possession, but the hosts provided the sharper threat where it mattered. In front of 12,041 supporters, Bournemouth registered five shots on target to the visitors’ one, protecting their slender advantage before adding a decisive late second.
Evanilson gives Bournemouth the advantage
Evanilson broke the deadlock in the 31st minute, putting Bournemouth ahead in a fixture that remained finely balanced on the scoreboard until its closing stages.
Leeds defender Nico Elvedi was booked four minutes later, while Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Christie received a yellow card in first-half stoppage time. The hosts went into the interval with their 1–0 lead intact, leaving Leeds needing a more productive second-half response.
Leeds possession fails to deliver an equaliser
The visitors finished with 56.2% possession and 10 attempts, just one fewer than Bournemouth. Yet only one of those efforts was on target, underlining the gap between having the ball and turning it into a meaningful goal threat.
Both sides won four corners, but Bournemouth’s superior accuracy proved telling. Ethan Ampadu’s 62nd-minute booking and a yellow card for Tyler Adams in the 74th minute punctuated a second half in which the hosts continued to hold their narrow lead.
Adli puts the result beyond doubt
With Leeds still only one goal behind entering stoppage time, the possibility of salvaging a draw remained. Substitute Amine Adli ended those hopes in the 94th minute, doubling Bournemouth’s advantage and settling the contest.
It was a satisfying combination for the hosts: two goals, a clean sheet and three points. For Leeds, the central frustration was their inability to turn a larger share of possession into enough accurate attempts.
Bournemouth next face Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 8, with kick-off scheduled for 6:00 a.m. PST. Leeds return to action against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, November 7, at 4:30 a.m. PST.
