Nashville SC struck twice after halftime to beat CF Montréal 2–0 at Stade Saputo on Saturday, October 24, turning a goalless opening half into three valuable MLS points on the road.

Sam Surridge supplied the breakthrough in the 51st minute before Montréal goalkeeper Samsy Keita’s own goal in the 76th minute doubled the visitors’ advantage. The hosts finished with more shots and more attempts on target, but could not find a way onto the scoresheet.

Surridge makes the difference after halftime

Neither side found the net before the interval, leaving the Eastern Conference fixture level at 0–0. Dani Pereira’s 13th-minute yellow card was the only booking of the opening half.

Montréal’s Viktor Radojevic was cautioned in the 48th minute, and three minutes later Nashville moved ahead through Surridge. His 51st-minute goal changed the complexion of the contest, putting the home side in pursuit of an equalizer.

Nashville’s Elias Saad and Jeisson Palacios received yellow cards in the 65th and 70th minutes respectively. The next decisive moment came in the 76th minute, when Keita was credited with an own goal that extended Nashville’s lead to 2–0 and left Montréal facing a much steeper task.

Montréal’s attempts bring no reward

The final statistics underlined Montréal’s frustration. The hosts registered 10 shots to Nashville’s eight and put six attempts on target compared with the visitors’ four. They also edged the corner count 6–5, yet those opportunities produced no goals.

Nashville held 56 percent of possession and emerged with both the victory and a clean sheet. Montréal’s greater volume of attempts offered little consolation as the visitors made the decisive contributions after the break.
