Orlando City SC 2-1 Real Salt Lake

Antoine Griezmann delivered a decisive second-half brace as Orlando City SC came from behind to earn a 2-1 Major League Soccer victory over Real Salt Lake at Inter&Co Stadium on Saturday.

Real Salt Lake made the brighter move on the scoreboard before the interval. Dominik Marczuk put the visitors ahead in the 36th minute, giving RSL a 1-0 halftime advantage after a competitive opening 45 minutes.

Orlando responded with greater control after the restart, finishing with 61.4 percent possession and 11 shots to Salt Lake’s eight. The Lions found their equaliser in the 53rd minute when Griezmann struck to pull the hosts level and change the momentum of the match.

With the fixture still in the balance entering the final stages, Griezmann supplied the match-winning moment in the 81st minute. His second goal completed Orlando’s turnaround and secured all three points after a disciplined Real Salt Lake resistance.

Both sides registered three shots on target, while Orlando earned five corners to RSL’s four. Real Salt Lake were forced to defend for long stretches but had led at the break through Marczuk’s finish. Orlando’s sustained pressure, however, ultimately told through Griezmann’s clinical contribution.

The result leaves Orlando City SC with a 7-3-11 league record, while Real Salt Lake move to 8-4-8. Orlando next host Minnesota United FC on August 29, while RSL face Colorado Rapids on the same day.
