One volley proved enough for FC Dallas. Kaick’s 63rd-minute goal settled a closely contested Western Conference fixture at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday, October 14, giving the hosts a 1–0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC.

Seattle finished with more possession, more shots and more corners, but Dallas supplied the decisive finish and protected their clean sheet through nine minutes of second-half stoppage time.

Kaick breaks the deadlock

The sides went into halftime level at 0–0, leaving the contest finely balanced heading into the second half. The breakthrough arrived in the 63rd minute when Kaick found the net with a volley, putting Dallas ahead with what would become the only goal of the match.

It was the defining contribution in a fixture with little separating the teams in overall shooting volume. Dallas produced 15 attempts to Seattle’s 16, although the visitors put seven on target compared with the hosts’ three.

Dallas withstand Seattle’s challenge

The Sounders held 57 percent possession and earned 11 corners to Dallas’ seven, but those advantages did not translate into an equalizer. Dallas made their narrower share of the ball count and kept Seattle off the scoresheet.

Patrickson Delgado received a yellow card in the 81st minute, while Dallas goalkeeper Daniel was booked in the eighth minute of added time. The hosts ultimately saw out the remaining moments to secure all three points.

For Seattle, the frustration lay in leaving empty-handed despite their seven efforts on target. For Dallas, this was a victory built on the decisive touch from Kaick and a clean sheet at the other end.

What comes next

Both clubs return to MLS action on Saturday, October 17. FC Dallas face Houston Dynamo FC at 5:30 p.m. PDT, while Seattle Sounders FC take on CF Montréal at 7:30 p.m. PDT.
