Bay FC 2-0 Racing Louisville FC — Bay FC produced a commanding second-half display at PayPal Park on Sunday, defeating Racing Louisville FC 2-0 behind goals from Alex Pfeiffer and Karlie Lema.
After a goalless first half, Bay found the breakthrough five minutes after the restart. Alex Pfeiffer struck in the 50th minute to reward the home side’s increasing control and give the 11,427 supporters in San Jose a lead to celebrate.
Racing Louisville had little time to reset before Bay doubled its advantage. Karlie Lema scored in the 56th minute, six minutes after Pfeiffer’s opener, putting the hosts firmly in command of the NWSL fixture.
Bay’s authority was reflected in the numbers. The home side held 59.7 percent possession, outshot Racing 22-6, and put nine efforts on target compared with Louisville’s two. Bay also won the corner count 5-3, consistently keeping Racing under pressure across the pitch.
Racing Louisville’s Arin Wright was booked in the 35th minute during an otherwise scoreless opening period, while Bay substitute Caroline Conti received a yellow card in second-half stoppage time. Neither side saw a red card.
