Dango Ouattara’s 63rd-minute volley earned Brentford a share of the points as Hull City were held to a 1–1 Premier League draw at the MKM Stadium on Sunday. Oliver McBurnie had given the hosts the lead from the penalty spot in the 24th minute, but the Bees struck back after the interval.

McBurnie puts Hull ahead

In front of 24,259 supporters, Hull made the first breakthrough midway through the opening half. Brentford’s Aaron Hickey was booked in the 23rd minute, before McBurnie converted a penalty a minute later to give the Tigers a 1–0 advantage.

That lead remained intact through to half-time, leaving Brentford with work to do after the restart.

Ouattara delivers Brentford’s response

The visitors found their equaliser in the 63rd minute, when Ouattara struck with a volley to bring Brentford level. His finish ultimately proved decisive in securing a point, with neither side finding a winner before the final whistle.

Brentford finished with the stronger attacking numbers: 57.5 per cent possession, 14 attempts to Hull’s 12, and six shots on target compared with the hosts’ two. They also edged the corner count six to five, although that statistical advantage did not translate into a second goal.

For Hull, McBurnie’s first-half penalty provided the platform for a home point. For Brentford, Ouattara’s second-half intervention ensured their greater share of possession and attempts brought a tangible reward. The result left both sides with a point from a fixture in which each won a half.
