Crystal Palace turned an early setback into a convincing result, beating Nottingham Forest 3–1 at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Sunday, October 11. Two goals late in the first half transformed the contest before a third after the interval gave the Eagles breathing room.

Dan Ndoye put Forest ahead in the third minute, but Daichi Kamada equalised in the 41st minute and Jefferson Lerma headed Palace in front at 45+4. Yéremy Pino then extended the advantage in the 59th minute to complete the turnaround.

Palace turn the tide before half-time

Forest could hardly have asked for a better opening, with Ndoye’s third-minute goal immediately putting the hosts on the back foot. The visitors held that advantage until the closing stages of the first half, only for Palace to change the complexion of the match before the break.

Kamada’s equaliser in the 41st minute brought Palace level. Lerma, who had been booked in the 16th minute, then made a decisive contribution at the other end, heading home four minutes into first-half stoppage time. From trailing for much of the half, Palace went into the dressing room with a 2–1 lead.

Pino adds the cushion

Pino’s goal in the 59th minute made it 3–1, leaving Forest needing two goals to salvage a draw. The Palace attacker received a yellow card a minute later, but his goal proved the final addition to the result.

Forest had more possession and attempts, finishing with 56.6 percent of the ball and 24 shots to Palace’s 13. Yet the hosts put seven efforts on target to Forest’s six and converted three of them—a telling contrast in attacking efficiency. Forest also led the corner count eight to five, without finding another goal.

Ola Aina was booked in the 73rd minute and Murillo at 90+4 as Forest’s afternoon ended in defeat. Palace’s response to conceding so early, particularly their two-goal burst before half-time, ultimately decided this fixture.
