Racing Louisville FC delivered a ruthless second-half display to beat Boston Legacy FC 4-1 in Saturday’s National Women’s Soccer League fixture at Lynn Family Stadium.
Kayla Fischer led the way with two goals, striking in the 44th minute to send Racing into the interval with a 1-0 advantage before adding her second in the 62nd. Katie O’Kane converted a penalty in the 53rd minute and Emma Sears made it three in the 59th as Louisville turned a tight contest into a decisive home win.
Boston enjoyed the larger share of possession, finishing with 61.3 percent of the ball, but Racing were sharper and more purposeful in the decisive areas. The hosts produced 17 shots to Boston’s 11 and made all four of their efforts on target count, an exceptional return that reflected their clinical work in front of goal.
Fischer’s opener arrived just before halftime, giving Racing a valuable breakthrough after a competitive opening period. Louisville emerged after the restart ready to press their advantage, and O’Kane’s 53rd-minute penalty doubled the margin.
There was no let-up from the home side. Sears found the net in the 59th minute, before Fischer completed her brace three minutes later to put the result beyond doubt. Racing’s attacking efficiency was especially notable given Boston matched them with four shots on target.
Boston Legacy did find a late consolation in the fifth minute of stoppage time, when Sammy Smith headed home in the 90+5th minute. But it did little to alter the verdict on a night Racing controlled where it mattered most.
The 7,018 supporters at Lynn Family Stadium saw Racing secure a convincing 4-1 result, with Fischer’s brace the headline contribution in a polished NWSL performance.
