AFC Bournemouth turned in an assured Premier League performance on Sunday afternoon, brushing aside Crystal Palace 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth.

The home side were ahead inside 10 minutes when Jefferson Lerma inadvertently turned the ball into his own net on 10′, handing Bournemouth the perfect start. Palace had barely settled when they found themselves chasing the fixture, and Bournemouth looked the sharper side throughout the opening exchanges.

That pressure told again in the 32nd minute. Junior Kroupi stepped up from the spot and converted calmly on 32′ to double Bournemouth’s advantage, capping a first half in which the Cherries carried far more threat in the final third. By the interval, the hosts were fully deserving of their 2-0 lead.

Crystal Palace saw a little more of the ball over the course of the match, finishing with 50.6 percent possession, but it rarely translated into clear openings. Bournemouth were far more purposeful, outshooting the visitors 16 to 7, putting 5 efforts on target to Palace’s 1, and winning 7 corners to 1. The contest never truly felt in doubt once the second goal went in.

Any lingering uncertainty disappeared in the 77th minute when Rayan added Bournemouth’s third goal on 77′, putting the seal on an impressive afternoon for the home side. It was a fitting reward for a Bournemouth attack that consistently found space and asked tougher questions of the Palace back line than the visitors managed at the other end.

There was frustration for Palace, reflected in yellow cards for Jaydee Canvot on 6′ and Maxence Lacroix on 38′, while Bournemouth kept their discipline and control as the fixture wore on. In front of a crowd of 11,122, the hosts managed the final stages comfortably and saw out a convincing clean-sheet victory.

For Bournemouth, this was a polished and efficient display built on an early breakthrough, a well-taken penalty, and a composed late finish. For Crystal Palace, it was an afternoon short on attacking edge and one they will want to move on from quickly.

Goals: Jefferson Lerma (own goal) 10′, Junior Kroupi (penalty) 32′, Rayan 77′.
