Seattle Reign FC claimed an impressive 2-1 away victory over Orlando Pride on Sunday at Inter&Co Stadium, surviving a lively second-half push from the hosts and finding the decisive moment through Brittany Ratcliffe’s late header.

The Reign struck first in the 24th minute when Jess Fishlock finished to cap a sharp attacking move, giving the visitors an early foothold in a competitive National Women’s Soccer League fixture. Seattle carried that 1-0 advantage into the interval, managing the tempo well and forcing Orlando to chase the match.

Orlando responded immediately after the restart. In the 51st minute, Barbra Banda brought the Pride level at 1-1, finishing off the hosts’ best spell of attacking pressure and igniting the home crowd. It felt at that point as though the momentum had swung decisively toward Orlando.

And there was plenty in the numbers to support that feeling. The Pride piled up 23 total shots and put 8 efforts on target, while also earning 5 corners. Seattle, though, remained composed without the ball, and their cutting edge in key moments ultimately made the difference.

The decisive breakthrough arrived in the 83rd minute. Ratcliffe rose to head home for Seattle Reign FC, restoring the visitors’ lead and silencing Orlando just as the hosts looked capable of turning pressure into a winning goal of their own.

From there, Seattle managed the closing stages with grit and concentration. Orlando continued to press, but the Reign held firm through stoppage time to secure all three points. Fishlock’s opener in the 24th minute and Ratcliffe’s winner in the 83rd ensured Seattle left Florida with the result, while Banda’s 51st-minute goal was not enough for the Pride despite an energetic second-half display.

It was a fixture defined by efficiency from Seattle and frustration for Orlando. The Pride created more volume in attack and tested the Reign back line throughout, but the visitors were more clinical in front of goal. On a day when margins were slim, Seattle took their chances and made the decisive moments count.
