Brazil build a two-goal cushion

India kept the match goalless until the 28th minute, when Estêvão supplied the breakthrough. That opener set Brazil on their way, and Pedro’s 42nd-minute goal left the hosts facing a difficult task at the interval.

The visitors’ overall control was reflected in the numbers: Brazil finished with 65.8% possession and attempted 20 shots to India’s nine. Their ability to turn that attacking volume into goals proved decisive.

Lino adds the finishing touches

Any hopes of an Indian comeback suffered another blow when Samuel Lino made it 3–0 in the 58th minute. With a three-goal cushion, Brazil had put themselves firmly on course for victory.

India registered three shots on target and won six corners across the match, but could not find a way onto the scoresheet. Brazil, meanwhile, recorded seven efforts on target and eight corners, sustaining the greater attacking threat.

Lino had the final word in the 90+5th minute, adding his second goal to complete the 4–0 result. Brazil scored twice in each half and left Kolkata with both a comfortable victory and a clean sheet.

A demanding test for India

For India, this was a challenging friendly against opponents who controlled possession and made their opportunities count. Their own attacking returns offered moments of involvement, but no breakthrough to soften the result.

For Brazil, the evening brought goals from three different players, with Estêvão’s 28th-minute opener, Pedro’s 42nd-minute strike and Lino’s goals in the 58th and 90+5th minutes telling the story of a comprehensive away win.
