Inter Miami CF and Red Bull New York played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Nu Stadium on Saturday night, with both sides enjoying spells of control and neither able to land the decisive late blow.

Red Bull struck first in the 15th minute when Jorge Ruvalcaba finished to silence the home crowd and give the visitors an early edge. Miami, though, continued to see plenty of the ball and kept probing, eventually finding their reward deep into first-half stoppage time. Mateo Silvetti brought the hosts level at 45’+1′, a timely goal that shifted the mood going into the interval.

The second half began with Inter Miami looking the more assertive side, but it was Red Bull New York who seized the initiative again. Germán Berterame scored in the 55th minute to put the visitors back in front, punishing Miami despite the home side’s territorial advantage.

That set up a tense final half-hour. Inter Miami continued to push, helped by sustained pressure in the attacking third and a steady stream of set pieces. Their persistence paid off in the 77th minute when Adri Mehmeti found the equaliser, making it 2-2 and ensuring the hosts had something to show for their pressure.

Statistically, Miami had the better of several key categories, finishing with 55.3 percent possession, 16 shots, seven efforts on target and a commanding 12-3 edge in corners. Red Bull New York, however, were clinical and efficient, scoring twice from just five total shots and only two on target. That contrast defined the fixture: Miami controlled more of the rhythm, while Red Bull remained dangerous whenever they broke forward.

The match also carried a physical edge. Cade Cowell was booked for Inter Miami in the 59th minute, Ian Fray entered the referee’s notebook for Red Bull in the 76th minute, and Rafael Mosquera saw yellow for the hosts in the 80th minute as the contest grew increasingly stretched.

In the end, a draw felt like a fair outcome. Inter Miami showed resilience to come from behind twice, while Red Bull New York will take encouragement from the efficiency of their attacking play on the road. In a league where momentum can swing quickly, both sides had enough positives to take from a competitive MLS fixture.
