Noah Okafor delivered the decisive moment in the 79th minute as Leeds United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at Elland Road on Saturday. The substitute's late goal settled a Premier League fixture in which Spurs had more of the ball, but Leeds produced more than twice as many attempts.

Tottenham arrived amid talk of a resurgence. Instead, they left empty-handed after failing to turn 60.8% possession into a goal, while Leeds gave the 36,924 spectators a home victory to savour.
Goalless first half leaves the contest open
Neither side found a breakthrough before the interval. Micky van de Ven went into the referee's book in the 15th minute, followed by Leeds midfielder Sean Longstaff in the 22nd, as the teams reached half-time level at 0-0.

Spurs' greater share of possession ultimately did not translate into more attempts. Across the match, Leeds registered 16 shots to Tottenham's seven and won six corners to the visitors' four. Both teams finished with four shots on target, underlining the importance of making one of those opportunities count.
Okafor makes the difference
Pedro Porro was booked in the 51st minute, but the deadlock remained intact well into the second half. A draw was still on the table until Okafor struck in the 79th minute, putting Leeds ahead with the only goal of the afternoon.
Okafor received a yellow card a minute later, though his decisive contribution was already made. Tottenham needed an equaliser to salvage a point, but Leeds kept their clean sheet intact through five minutes of stoppage time. Sandro Tonali's 88th-minute booking added to the visitors' frustration.
Leeds turn fewer touches into three points
The contrast between possession and attacking output told the story. Leeds had just 39.2% of the ball yet generated nine more attempts than Spurs, giving themselves enough opportunities to find the winning goal. Tottenham matched their hosts for shots on target, but could not find a way through.
For Leeds, this was a victory built on a clean sheet and a decisive contribution from the bench. For Tottenham, it was a reminder that control of possession alone offers no guarantee of points.
Both clubs return to Premier League action on Saturday, November 21. Leeds face Chelsea, while Tottenham take on Ipswich Town, with both fixtures scheduled for 7:00 a.m. PST.
