Thierno Barry turned the match on its head with two goals in five minutes as Everton came from behind to beat Coventry City 3-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Friday, November 6, climbing into fifth place in the Premier League.

Yann Gboho had put the visitors ahead in the 52nd minute, but Barry answered with a 56th-minute header before striking again in the 61st. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall then added Everton's third in the 81st minute to complete the comeback in front of 52,395 supporters.
Barry delivers the decisive response
A goalless first half gave little indication of the burst of goals to follow. When Gboho broke the deadlock seven minutes after the restart, Coventry had an advantage to protect and Everton suddenly needed a response.
They found one almost immediately. Barry's header in the 56th minute restored parity just four minutes after the opener, denying Coventry the chance to settle into their lead.
By the 61st minute, the Everton forward had struck again. His second goal transformed a one-goal deficit into a 2-1 lead within nine minutes of Gboho's breakthrough, making his finishing the defining contribution of the evening.
Dewsbury-Hall puts Everton out of reach
Coventry remained within one goal until Dewsbury-Hall netted in the 81st minute, giving Everton a two-goal cushion heading into the closing stages. The hosts saw out the remainder to secure all three points, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Coventry's Caleb Yirenkyi both booked in the 88th minute.
The overall numbers reflected a competitive fixture rather than a one-sided contest. Coventry edged possession with 50.2%, while Everton led the shot count 16-15. The more telling difference came in attempts on target: Everton registered seven to Coventry's four and made their opportunities count.
For Everton, the reward was a move into the Premier League's top five, with Barry's scoring form again central to their progress. Coventry were left to rue how quickly their promising position disappeared after taking the lead.

Coventry return to action against Crystal Palace on Saturday, November 21, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 a.m. PST. Everton next face Brentford on Monday, November 23, at 12:00 p.m. PST.
