FC Dallas produced a remarkable stoppage-time escape at Energizer Park on Sunday, with Logan Farrington’s 97th-minute goal earning a breathless 3-3 draw against St. Louis CITY SC.
St. Louis made the sharper start and were ahead inside three minutes when Simon Becher found the net at 3′. Dallas responded through Shaq Moore at 18′, but CITY regained control before the interval as Daniel Edelman struck at 43′ to send the home side into half-time with a 2-1 advantage.
The hosts appeared to have put the fixture firmly in their hands after Carlo Holse extended the lead in the 64th minute. St. Louis had the better of possession, holding 52.6 percent, while also earning six corners and putting five of 10 attempts on target.
Dallas, however, refused to let the match drift away. Sebastien Ibeagha powered home a header in the 81st minute to give the visitors a route back into the contest. With St. Louis trying to see out the closing stages, Dallas continued to press and were rewarded deep into added time.
Farrington delivered the decisive late moment at 90’+7′, converting to complete Dallas’ comeback and silence the home crowd. The visitors finished with 12 shots and seven on target, underlining the attacking threat that eventually overwhelmed St. Louis’ late resistance.
The draw leaves both clubs level on 9-6-6 records. St. Louis CITY SC return to action against Vancouver Whitecaps on September 5, while FC Dallas travel to face Sporting Kansas City the same day.
